Can I report one logo just because I feel that the designer copied my idea, composition, even in some way the colors too? This is not the first time when I feel hurt when shaw new approved logos, and feel that the main idea was mine. I am wondered to hear what other designers think about, or when someone uses else's sold artwork and totally redraw it, it is not the plagiarism anymore?
here is mine
https://www.logoground.com/logo.php?id=67428

and here is the similar logo, even the circular shape idea is copied in some way.

Thanks for any thought,
even if you think that I am not right, I will understand it.

Hi Agnes design, i have to say im in love with all your designs!
But i have to disagree with you on this, i believe it is more of "inspired by" than copied and i dont think it is considered a plagiarism at all. I think the other designer have similar style of making cute logos, and its more of a coincidence. It is not similar in elements, even the tree is very different and shaping the house shape instead of making it just on it like you did.
Its like we see here lots of lion logos ideas, that doesnt mean that all who made a lion logo has copied the idea but maybe just got inspired by it.

Hi Agnes Design. I am a fan of your works. I think your style is beautiful.
I have to agree with MonGE Designs. although there are similarities, I would go for "inspired by" rather than "plagiarism". The line between the two is very vague. If this were to happen in a logo design contest, yes the "inspired by" version should be rejected but on a free marketplace, it is more acceptable as designers even myself are inspired by other designers and try to learn new way of designing logo until I could find my own design style. So having some aspect of it be similar is something to be expect of from any logo design.

Although it's definitely different, they are same concept. And Familiar concept is not a thing in designer world anymore. It can happen to anybody including us. Considered it as a coincidence.

I agree with what has been said.

Thank you all for your thoughts. Any answer is a good answer, in some way you are right. I hope that the designer would not take this too personally, if yes, I apologize.

Your portfolios are great too. And there is a few very interesting design. For my next example question, I will take a few designs from your portfolios what I think it is amazing and in some way unique.
If I tomorrow come back with a letter S with fire(upper piece) and water on the bottom, just all different line used + similar but not the same coloring - it would be totally fine, and my logo what I can to sell for any price?
Or cafe cup combined with a pencil (congratulation for this logo misma, I love it - simple but unique) but I would use a totally different style, just keep the idea.

- It would be fer? It does not hurt your rights?

MonGeDesigns, I love your designs too, especially the latest, great style.

Hi Agnes design,

I removed the link in your post. Forum rules. On the forum you're not allowed to comment on other designers' work unless they invited comments. But you can use the "Report this logo" button to report any logo and we will then take a look and discuss it with you via email.

In this case I think the logos are sufficiently different. The idea of a tree/hand combo is quite common and there are also many tree logos with swings. It is almost inevitable that more than one designer will come up with a tree/hand/swing combination.

To answer your question about copying ideas:
It's fairly complex! Ideas can't be copyrighted or trademarked and you are of course free to take inspiration from existing logos. At the same time a very unique idea might be impossible to copy without creating a logo that is too similar. The criteria we use on LogoGround is the same as that used by the USPTO: If two logos are confusingly similar, they are too similar. In other words, if there is a reasonable chance that people will confuse the two logos or the companies that use them, they are too similar.

The problem is that it is subjective. What one person considers different enough might be confusingly similar to someone else. We try to be as consistent as possible and we make the call based on our own experience with logos and copyright/trademark issues.

I hope that helps :)

@Agnes design, your question is difficult to answer because you didnt create the design yet and it all depends on your description. If i described to you a logo of mine that contains a tree with a swing and a kid on that swing and the design is a circular shape too, depending on the description you might say that i definitely copied your design, but when you see it, i bet you will change your mind:
https://www.logoground.com/logo.php?id=121942

Anyone can be inspired by any design, but how he/she proceeds in using it, is the only thing that will determine if something is plagiarism or not. And as @ajleroux mentioned, that it is even subjective sometimes but i do trust that LG is trying its best to avoid any copyright issues.

i also believe that there are no unique ideas, there are always an inspirations behind it, nothing is really original (There is nothing new under the sun) every new idea is just a mashup or a remix of one or more previous ideas. i recommend you a book called "steal like an artist" it might change you perspective about what is plagiarism and how "unique" ideas are created.

@ Agness It will be fine if you are inspired by someone even they are no better than you. But you should be little proud when someone is got inspired by yourself. I don't think S design is perfect, and hope that someday I will come up with another greater creativity on this. Or maybe the idea its self first come to you and you able make it look more perfect. But thanks to Agness, I really appreciate it :). I was honored when my work was recognized by one of the veteran designers at LG. I have tons of ideas in my head, but I am lack of training in using design tools and design skills, Moreover I am very excited to learn especially when my logos start to appear one by one at LG.
