Forum Logo sale increase

After I asked a permission from Logoground, let me tell you how Logoground designers can increase logo sale.
Before I started to sale logos on Logoground, I already had a portfolio on Behance.
When I design a group of 10-12 new logos, I make a project on Behance named "Logos for sale". At my experience, people love to see that kind of projects and more "likes" you get, your project will be more visible to prospective clients.
In the begining, I didn't thought that on Behance will be so much prospective clients, but I was wrong - many people look this site.
When a client show interest for a pre-made logo, I send him a link
on Logoground with logo price.
About 20% - 30% of my logo sales are done in this way.
Dribbble is also good platform to show your logos, but in my experience much more clients are on Behance.
When I sell a logo, I mark it as "sold" on Behance also.

I don't claim that you will increase your logo sale tomorrow, but in a year or less...
If you are going to try this, please remember that those logos should be published first on Logoground and later on other platforms.

I unfortunately don't have much time for pre-made logos lately, but if this is your basic job, I think you should try to increase your logo sale in this way.

Very nice idea, but this site have a bad policy, you per-made logo just can show in this site, any admin can tell us about this way is right or wrong ?

ADMIN

Mack Studio if I understand your question correctly, yes you can only show logos on Behance, you can't offer them for sale there. You can however use that as a marketing tool to channel buyers to your logos on LogoGround.

From our side we have no problem with this strategy. As long as you upload to LogoGround first, then to portfolio sites like Behance. The reason is that we check for duplicates when we review logos and if we find the same logo on Behance (etc.) we can't always confirm that it is the same designer, so then we must assume it is copied and close your LogoGround account. Once it is approved on LogoGround it is safe to upload to other sites.

For designers who have large portfolios on sites like Behance, contact us. There is no need to delete all your logos from Behance, then upload to LogoGround, then re-upload to Behance. If we know what your Behance username is we can ignore duplicates that we find there, but please contact us first to let us know.

I'm not very familiar with Instagram, to be honest. My understanding is that you share images, but you can't actually sell them there. Once a logo is approved on LogoGround you may post it on social media sites like Instagram etc.

Thank you so much @zveronika ! It's just what I was looking for. strategies to promote my logos properly. Some time ago I tried to upload logos to behance to promote them through links but, I think I did not know how to do it correctly.

I had already considered Instagram but I was not sure if it was efficient. I am evaluating the possibility of using dribbble but I have not registered yet on the site and I am not sure how it works.

Does anyone have experience with pinterest? I read that it could be used in the same way as behance to promote.

Remember every exposure is also a risk of having your design stolen or copied. As logo designers we dont really have legal funds to do much about such situation so if push comes to shove and reporting and DMCa wont work we cant do much or even if we do its a long legal battle for 300usd worth of merchandise.

Veronicas style is very unique and hard to copycat so she can feel safer showing her designs off. Too much exposure towards people not really interested in purchasing, just oogling may result in some day you finding out that theres a very close design to yours for half price where you can see it is of slightly worse quality but the clients may not have your expertise and knowledge to notice or care.

DESIGNER

Also make sure to calculate if you want to post your designs without a watermark anywhere. On a logo contest site which shall remain nameless because thats not important to the story, i have submitted designs once for a perspective client. They have been rated the highest and marked to move to the final round. At that moment a thief has removed the background from my design and posted it as his, and when i claimed it was mine he shown the administration an upload date for it PRIOR to me creating it using a FALSE TIMESTAMP from some shady upload site. Only the fact that you could see badly erased background gradient still present on the stolen design has saved me. So watch out and make sure to protect your IP.

I love this post, I have saved it there in favorites. :) I wanted to add something that occurred to me, maybe it sounds silly and obvious, but I had not thought of it before.

As everyone knows, logoground only allows uploading 1 version per logo. So I had days thinking about what to do with the alternative versions of our logos? I mean those beautiful color versions that made us doubt and that we wanted to post here on logoground as well. And suddenly I thought about uploading them in the other pages and social networks, indicating that they are alternative versions.

Why is this good?
This will increase our content in those pages, which translates into more likes, more views, more traffic and possibility of sales. For example, in dribbble, the most recent "shots" appear in a special section, which different people check different days. So uploading more designs means reaching more people, especially if you upload those designs at different times. In addition, in the description of these alternative versions we again make the invitation to the sales page in logoground. :)

Well guys before I came to LG, I've been using the same techniques not only on behance but on Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, Dribbble, Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook and some other social media platforms and believe me that this technique really works. I sold out many of my logos on other websites before LG. And now I'm hopping that this number of sale will increase in future. Try it because it definitely works.

I wrote this post 2 years ago. Who would say, time is really passing by...
Now I am interested to hear did you have any success with it.
To be honest, I was too lazy, sometimes busy, to post regularly new projects on the most of the sites I have mentioned, but still, here and there some inquiry is coming. The last one was through Logopond and I even forgot that I have made a profile there.

Time goes by quickly and inadvertently ... Your post has been very helpful :D Thank you so much! I'm experimenting on other platforms but carefully, because I have the idea that in some places there is more chance of being robbed than in others, for now, I think there is a lot of potential for sale on Dribbble, I think my last logo sold on LG was through dribbble, also, I have a portfolio in Behance :D

Two years later. :) Since I only started here, I decided to try a couple strategies.

Pinterest
I have a board with all my LogoGround logos. Knowing fully well that this increases the risk of theft, make no mistake... but I find Pinterest a great source when dmca-ing thieves, too. Some of my 99d logo store designs are in there, and while the logo store is defunct, I can still link to my pin. Same with SL. So having my name on Pinterest links... not knowing if LG will be around forever, seems like a good strategy.

Instagram
Just resurrecting my designer insta. So for now 3-5 logos a day go on there. But Insta is pretty hard to build an audience, it takes more time and interaction and comments than I am willing to spend. But I will post occasional work to my illustration insta, just need to space it, and choose wisely - that is a kidlit crowd.

Behance
I never do anything there. So, I will start again... need to see if I make boards by time or topic, and add to those as new work is created.

Website
My website is mostly illustration. Will add a logo section to it.

All my work is presented in squares, with my designer name in the picture, btw. Except for Pinterest, where I use the LG links.

Yes, it is easy to crop out my name, and thieves will be thieves. But as I have my work stolen daily, I am used to dmca procedures.

And I converted a number of thieves to buyers - often, the client using the logo does not even know it was stolen, he bought it from someone. It pays to be polite at first and encourage an official sale instead of legal proceedings.

Only when logos get stolen in Asia or Russia, you are pretty much helpless. No dmca will be of any use. I had to abandon some logos, because they had spread too wildly... hope this doesn’t happen on here. Then we re-evaluate.

That's right @Zveronika, what you say. I also tried promoting my logo with a link to Logoground. I started from Facebook, Twitter with a link pointing to Logoground. Every time I make a status on Facebook I include a "Logo for sale" added description and a Link to Logoground, redirecting them to my logo.

I think it's not just Behance that we can sell it because this is a marketing strategy for a logo designer that must be mastered. To increase sales. Although I have not yet fulfilled the conditions of sale at Logoground, because my logo has not yet entered criteria for sale. But I remain confident and optimistic that someday there will be sales for my logo.

gyalogosdesign, sorry for the late response. I didn't see your post before now.

There isn't a rule against it, but as a general guideline I think it's wise to keep shoppers on-site. If we send them to another site a percentage of them will not return - they get distracted/lost etc. It's debatable whether the extra content you're offering will bring enough of an increase in sales to make up for it. When they're shopping I think the best thing to do is to leave them to it. :)

@fizarctist If your client approved your logo and you delivered final files you only need to set your project as "Finalized". In your main dashboard you will see "Client>Customers" empty and in "Client>Archived/Finalized projects" will be showed your finallized project. Now you will need to wait to the next payment round (maybe last January week) to get your money. Be sure your PayPal account is correctly written in your LG account to receive it correctly.
