Hi Mike 92,

Sure, we can do that. Note that any reputation earned and all logos in the account are also deleted and there is no undo. If you change your mind later, you would have to start over. If that's ok, let me know and I'll delete your account.

Thanks for answering this fast, I’m aware of that but because of some declined logos I feel my reputation may not even be of importance. I have other projects in mind at the moment and if I ever come back I won’t mind about it.

So please do, I’d like to have it deleted thanks.

Does it mean that you can come back and upload the same logos what were approved before? Looks like it's a way to erase your bad ranking as a result of many declined logos. It would work for me :)

ADMIN

Mike 92, account deleted.

AGdesign, technically yes, but it's not necessary or recommended. Many designers start out with a string of declined logos, that's quite common. Once they start getting logos approved we "wipe" their bad ranking so that they don't have a huge negative ranking to overcome before they can get going.

Hi AGdesign,

Yes, starting over will be better option rather than overcoming my negative rank. Also recent change in payouts has left me with no option but to leave.

ADMIN

2019-09-21

AGdesign, my earlier point is that you need not worry about overcoming a negative rank. If you do have a negative rank it will be reset once you upload a few logos that are approved. If starting over (rather than leaving) is what you want, you will not necessarily do better with a new account.

USER

2019-09-21

Andre,
Recently I uploaded about 3 or 4 logos in a row that had been approved. Later was only worse. So how many approved logos must I have to be eligible for payments? This is my biggest concern now, if I sell a logo then I won' t cash out my money for ages. This is not what I want therefore I have paused my account and looking for selling my logos elsewhere.

ADMIN
ajleroux
2019-09-21

As stated on the payments eligibility page, about 17 approved logos should do it if there were not too many declined logos.

By the way, you already have a positive ranking.

I'm sorry if it looks like I am making it difficult for you to leave LogoGround, that's not my intention, I just want to make sure you understand that starting over with a new account will set you back, undoing the good work you've been doing.

Andre, please delete my account.

I think if there might be a way for new designers who upload their first logos to have them not for sale but for display? Unless they achieve the silver level and become eligible for payment, all their logos will be available for sale? What do you think about it? Anyway you cannot make any profit from your logos unless you meet requirement. In some cases it takes days, but others may take months to achieve this. Just my thoughts.

ADMIN
ajleroux
2019-09-23

Hi AGdesign,

Having logos for display only is something we've considered and we may implement something like that in the future. We will always want to focus on selling so we would need a seamless way filter out those logos when a potential buyer searches through the logos. We don't want for sale logos to have to compete with display-only logos. The knock-on effect is that the display-only logos will receive fewer likes/views than they otherwise would, you would earn fewer badges for milestones etc. etc. so that, when you reach Silver, all your logos would be ranking lower than they would if they were for sale.

It is my honest opinion that reaching Silver is a very easy target (about 17 approved logos) and that any designer can achieve that level in a short time. We have examples here on LG of designers who had many declined logos initially, then focused on advancing and reached the Silver level within a week of setting their minds to it.

Account deleted as requested. I hope to see you back at LogoGround again at some point. Until then :)

ADMIN

I'm wondering about that too. If someone is unhappy about something here on LogoGround it would make more sense to either suggest improvements or to focus on something else, leaving the logos here until they sell. Undoing past work by deleting the account seems very counter-productive.

Kristina2912, we can delete your account. If you don't mind, please delete all your logos first. Our account delete function is set to fail if there are logos in the account - just as a safeguard against accidentally destroying years of work! By my oppinion - this is totally contra-productive to the designers who want to leave LG. They are loosing the proof of the date of logo uploading and they are loosing a chance to sell already uploaded and approved logos.

Logos in stores dont cost anything for just being there.

If somebody want to improve its raiting it could be easily done with consistency of the quality and with being active in the LG comunity.

Before deleting your accounts - think twice!

We admittedly set the bar fairly high, but most designers who do well here started out with a string of declined logos. When you have a declined logo, consider posting it here on the forum and asking everyone for tips. There are many experienced, insanely talented designers here who freely give advice when asked. It's tough to hear what you're doing wrong, but a great way to improve.

MOS, "hopeless" might not be the word you were looking for.

Rickylolangion, sure, you can do that. It is not recommended though and not necessary. If you have a negative reputation score an admin will periodically change it back to zero, so that you don't have to work hard just to get back to zero. Your best bet is to keep uploading and to take your time with each logo.

In fact, your reputation is currently above zero, because it was zeroed recently.

Rickylolangion, yes that makes sense, and I also saw the last few days. There are some designers who seem to make new accounts to reach the silver level quickly. maybe with that can send a logo that is certain / most likely will be aprroved.

ajleroux, I think it will be easy to reach the silver level if I only upload the logo that has been aprroved at LG before. and reduce the risk of dropping points, because no longer gamble with logos that are not standard LG. is that allowed?

Enoh91 & Rickylolangion,

Technically yes, the logos could be accepted in the new account if they were removed from the old account. But the problem is:

1. Admins may simply decline a logo that they know they approved recently. It is not always practical for them to try to find the earlier version.

2. There is no guarantee that a logo approved previously will be approved again. We try to be very consistent, but we're not robots. :) If I have Verdi playing in the background I approve everything.
(Just kidding.)

All things considered I would say it is better to continue with the account you have.

bad idea to switch to a new account.

next question :) @ajleroux,
If I want the points to be reset to 0, do I have to have more than one logo approved without being declined? or only requires an approved one logo to be reset again to 0 ??
because my reputation points didn't move up. :(

ADMIN
ajleroux
2020-08-26

Enoh91, at the moment there is no rule or specific criteria for it. It's up to the admin reviewing the logos to say "OK, this guy was struggling but now it looks like he's starting to get it." Then the admin changes the reputation score to zero.

The problem with that approach is of course that some designers could be overlooked. I have thought about a more structured approach. Some possibilities:

1. Specific criteria , e.g. 3 approved logos in a row and any negative score automatically goes to zero
2. If you have a negative score then you receive a bonus for consecutive approved logos, for example 3 consecutive approved logos automatically add 5 points, 4 consecutive adds 10 points etc. so that a designer can quickly get back to zero without an admin's help.
3. A limit to how low a score can drop, for example setting -10 as the limit.

Nothing like this is implemented yet, but we may go that route in the future.

DESIGNER
Enoh91
2020-08-26
Edited 2020-08-27 by Enoh91 permalink ANCHOR

ajleroux, Ya, I think that's better. Hopefully in the future it can really be applied.

it is also better if a designer (Level 1 designer) can see their current reputation points. If the points have started rearranging, maybe they will be very careful in uploading.

maybe you can also reduce the reputation points requirement to achieve silver to 10 or 15 points. :)
or it could also be that every logo that is approved has fixed reputation points, for example every logo that is approved has a fixed point of 0.2 or 0.1 point which cannot be reduced by the logo that was rejected. That way, designers who have got a lot of logos, it is no longer difficult to reach the silver level.

deleting account doesn't change anything, my advice don't rush with approvals and targets, try to make the best logos better than usual, and the good news is you only need to get 3-4 logos approved in a row, then your points will come back to 0, but the final decision is up to the admin to reset it to 0 or not

Hi wdsatrio. If you already contacted support then it's best if we let them handle it. Today is Saturday. I'm sure they will attend to your message on Monday.

Loveplus, WRSSID is right, starting again with another account is not a solution. We sometimes see designers trying that and inevitably their new account looks like the old one, in terms of the designer reputation. Your goal should be to first understand what you are doing wrong with your designs so that you start to get many approved logos in a row. But when that starts happening you will probably be halfway to the Silver rank, so to then start over with a new account does more harm than good.

Approved logos: +1.2 (on average)
Declined logos: -0.8 (on average)

I've been thinking the same thing. I've uploaded some of my works for at least 3 times already and all were declined. Not to mention the inconsistency of the reason as to why they were declined. "This logo has potential" or "Small improvements needed" lol! Are the people responsible for accepting designs even take time to review the designs well? I've seen so many logos that are mediocre but are still accepted. I'm not saying that i'm a great designer above anyone else. But the fact that these things happen is just frustrating and disappointing. Seeing a design that is much more formidable being declined and ones that are mediocre being accepted is such a downer.
