With the StockLogos.com web site closing soon we wanted to highlight some key features of LogoGround (LG) to make things easier for designers transferring their logos here.

1. Logo Review/Approval

Generally speaking, LG's focus is on artistic quality, not necessarily technical perfection. A logo with unnecessary nodes or an unnecessarily large EPS file will usually be approved on LG, provided the imperfections will not create a noticeable problem for the client.

LG has a community review feature. Designers with a silver or higher ranking can browse pending logos and help us decide which logos to approve and which to decline. Even if the community votes to decline a logo, an admin can still approve it (and vice versa), but in most cases the admin reviewing the logos will follow the lead of the community.

Before you start uploading your logos, please see our help page here:
http://www.logoground.com/get-logos-approved.php

2. Ranking

LG uses a ranking algorithm to determine the display order of logos in our search results. It's all a little technical, so we created a separate help file for those of you who like details :)
http://www.logoground.com/algorithm.php

3. Designer Payments

LG designers are paid monthly, between the 20th and 24th of each month. Only finalized logos are eligible for payment. Payments are sent through PayPal only.

4. Logo Revisions

Logo revisions and the final logo files must be posted on the site before the project is considered finalized and eligible for payment. LG offers clients a one business day (Monday thru Friday) turnaround for revisions. If a designer does not pause their account and also fails to deliver revisions or the final logo files on time, LG will reassign the project to a staff designer. Note that the designer's share drops significantly when this happens. See:
http://www.logoground.com/abandoned-logos.php

5. Support

Questions posted here on the forum are usually answered within 24 hours. You can also use our regular contact feature here:
http://www.logoground.com/contact.php
Please note that questions about declined logos and questions about payments should not be sent through the normal contact form. Please post those questions here in the forum.

Welcome to LogoGround! :)
We look forward to seeing your work!
If you have ideas for improving this site, post your suggestions here in the forum or use our suggestion box: http://www.logoground.com/suggestionbox.php

Does this mean that we do not need to send you link of our stocklogos store page? As per your rule, you advised us to send you this before starting upload so you can see that we are not thieves.

ADMIN

Still send us the link please. When the 99designs store closed a few years back there were cases of people stealing logos from there, thinking it would be hard to verify ownership after the site went down. The logos live on in Google's and Tineye's cache for a while and we will still be able to verify using https://archive.org/web/

I already sent to you link to my previous portfolio (through fast message form), but without answer. Can you approve it so I can start uploading here? So impatient :)

P.S. I will keep screen shots of all of my upload dates, so the track can be safe after deleting from previous portfolio.

Sad that SL has stopped, but there where signs that there was something happening there... But as we say in Holland: "De een zijn doos is de ander zijn brood", means something like: "their loss, your gain". Good for LG... ;-)

From a business point of view it's good for LG and I should be happy, but I can't help being sad for SL. It was a good platform by good people. Not the kind of site that I like to see closing down.

I must say LG admins and support service has been very flexible and brilliant so far! already feeling a positive energy working with LG. I deleted all my StockLogos Logo Files i hope my uploads will not be held for image search to StockLogos.

It is just sad... I also agree with Shihara: LG seems more positive and human. And they have a good sense of humor. I like that. Happy to be here.

I remember StockLogos from the very beginning, and the news of its closure wasn't the happiest one for me. It was a pretty powerful logo factory indeed, the fact that SL sold over 10 000 logos is more than eloquent. Besides, SL gathered lots of truly talented designers in one place, it was a really OLD SCHOOL of logo creation with its traditions and standards. I'm glad a had a chance to be the part of it.

On the one hand, LogoGround will definitely benefit from this news. The growing site and a friendly commission will motivate designers to move to LG. On the other hand, one big player is off and the competing might get a bit weaker.

However, I'm happy that I recently joined such a great alternative as LogoGround)) And I'll try to share my creative experience here and make the site even better if that's possible.

ADMIN

Hi MRM1. The date that the logo is uploaded to LG is shown as the upload date. If you are worried that some of your logos have been copied you can take screenshots of the pages on SL or check that the pages are indexed at https://archive.org/web/ so that you have a record of the date of publication on SL.

It is unfortunately not practical for us to go through your portfolio on SL to tell you which logos will be accepted on LG. In my opinion your most recent logos are very good so perhaps this is a good opportunity to look through your older logos to see if you find room for improvement before posting them on LG?

LogoGround Thankyou very much for your good idea, please can explain me more about what you said I can take screenshots, you mean take screenshots and save it on my compuer? thats all? or there is a way to save it on https://archive.org/web/ or any other place?

ADMIN
ajleroux
2018-01-18

Screenshots are easy to manipulate and therefor not solid proof of the upload date. Much better if the pages are logged in the "Wayback Machine". (https://archive.org/web/)

When you have a page open you can copy the full URL from the address bar and paste it in the search box at https://archive.org/web/ to see if they have saved the page over time.

If they haven't saved it yet it gives you a link that says "Save this url in the Wayback Machine". Click on that link to save the page forever.

It's a cool site. You can even see what Google looked like in 1998:
https://web.archive.org/web/19981111183552/http://google.stanford.edu:80/

DESIGNER
Old Boy
2018-01-18

I agree that screenshots can be manipulated with knowledge of Photoshop or something similar.

But, in case of need (thief stole our logo for example), how we can start up already deleted page using wayback machine to see previous page record - saving date? It saves traces for pages, but in case of deleted page, we don't have a link to recall it back through wayback machine.

ADMIN
ajleroux
2018-01-18

My understanding is that the Wayback Machine saves a copy of the page which survives even if the original is deleted. That's why we can still see what http://google.stanford.edu:80/
looked like in '98. If you access that URL today it redirects to a different page, but if you access the URL through archive.org you see the saved copy of the page.

Great web! But, as I said, if you don't have or don't "remember" the link you want to visit "back in time", wayback machine can not help you, even if the page was previous saved automatically by wayback machine.

Anyway, great tool. Thank you ajleroux!

ADMIN

Yes, might be a good idea to keep a list of the URL's you want to have access to, but you can also access the site's saved homepage and browse from there to the page you want, even if the live version of the site no longer exists.

Hi logoswim. No, that's not necessary. Saving the pages is recommended if you want to record your upload dates on StockLogos.com before that site goes down at the end of this month. It's not necessary to save LogoGround pages.

Is there a fast way to save all pages with dates, it is a quite a job to save page for every logo with date of upload.

Eclipse42,

There are many ways to archive individual pages on the Wayback Machine (e.g.: apps, extensions, JavaScript bookmarklets, etc.), some are more efficient than others, but in all cases, you must visit each page manually. I personally use a JavaScript bookmarklet.

To archive multiple pages automatically, you will need a web crawler (or spider), which you could code yourself or use one of the existing services.

There are may pages explaining these techniques. Here's one of them:
https://blog.archive.org/2017/01/25/see-something-save-something/

Hope this helps,

Ortega Graphics

Thank you LogoGround for Wayback Machine, it's pretty unique resource, I didn't know about it)

To protect/confirm my logo authorship from StockLogos:
1) I saved pages in Wayback Machine
2) Captured my logo store with screen video recorder (as it was discussed in the topic that just screenshot can be easily manipulated)

ADMIN

Hi datenshi blue,

That's not a problem. You can still upload those logos to LogoGround. Having a copy saved in the WayBack Machine is only to record the original upload date, in case someone copied one of your logos and there is a dispute about authorship in the future. Having them saved in Pinterest helps as well.

You can access the old site through the Wayback Machine and see if you can browse from there to your logos:
https://web.archive.org/web/20180130020047/https://stocklogos.com/
It may be that your pages were saved anyway.

by the way, a lot of logos from stocklogos were and still are stolen by a chinese site. If you do not have proof on when you made them, what happens to those logos?

ADMIN
ajleroux
2018-02-03

I don't think the WayBack Machine accepts search engine results pages, but I haven't tried saving one using one of the tools mentioned by Ortega Graphics above. It may be possible.

I'm aware of that rip-off site. If we apply the same rule as to other such cases, those logos must be considered "in use" and not eligible for LG until removed.

DESIGNER
datenshi blue

for those like me that didn't manage to save images in https://archive.org/web/ of their stocklogos shop, here is the solution:
- type in google(ex), but use google chrome as a browser: cache:https://stocklogos.com/logo/haircut-girl
but instead of "haircut-girl" as in my example type the name of your logo
and the page will appear
-afterwards so you can index that page in waybackmachine search the wayback machine add button extension and install it to your chrome. with the search open just press archive this page and than open page so you can save the link to the archived page
hope this helps. i'm not to good with explanations so if you didn;t understand something just ask :)

DESIGNER

Nice! I have a few which I didn't save through wayback machine by mistake...

But, when I try your mentioned way, I got just textual version of the page. I can't retrieve images. Without images we don't have 100% proof about logo authorization.

Guess what... Brandcrowd bought Stocklogos.com.
How much $$$ would have been paid for that? Probably a large amount.

I found out because an old Pinterest pin of one of my logos seams to be linked to BC.
Look at what they did: https://nl.pinterest.com/pin/553520610435869079/?nic=1

Can't remove it.
They use it without giving me the credits.
What a dirty trick! (with their $45 crap).

Yeah I know @Simplepixel but these logos do not link to that particular logo. Only BC has the benefits.

DESIGNER

I think they ‘captured’ the account after getting the ownership of that SL domainname. They changed every Logo with a standard text, which is leading us to their own website. Not to a specific logo but all traffic goes to the BC website.

These specific logos do not exist on their website because I do not have an account there. But they use it only for traffic, when you click you will never find the logo there...

Just traffic...

Yup. Dirty tactic. They redirected every url with stocklogos.com to brandcrowd.

They will just make potential buyer upset when finds out that the logo is not there at brandcrowd.

Maybe LG (or together with the community) had bought that domainname) so we could let the domainname refer to the LG site ;-)

If we all paid $1 then this was easy peasy ;-)
